{"id":148,"date":"2007-05-03T16:05:29","date_gmt":"2007-05-03T23:05:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sammich.org\/hurr\/?p=148"},"modified":"2007-05-03T16:05:29","modified_gmt":"2007-05-03T23:05:29","slug":"fond-du-lac-dorkfest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sammich.org\/hurr\/?p=148","title":{"rendered":"Fond du Lac dorkfest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last Saturday, I drove all the way up to Fond du Lac Wisconsin (aka Fondle my sack) to work on the 2000 NBTDI with a lot of people I knew and a lot of other people I didn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>I had a great time, got to see many of the local TDI folks and a whole lot from the upper midwest and even a couple vendors (rocketchip &#038; tdiparts) that drove all the way from the right coast. Good folks.<\/p>\n<p>I did all this, mostly by myself<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Brake fluid flush (all four brake calipers plus clutch)<\/li>\n<li>Rotated tires<\/li>\n<li>Transmission fluid change (half Redline MTL, half MT90)<\/li>\n<li>Diesel Purge injector nozzle cleaning<\/li>\n<li>Oil change w\/Mann filter &#038; Rotella T synthetic 5W-40 (blue bottle)<\/li>\n<li>Replaced cracked sideskirt on passenger side (timing belt lower cover)<\/li>\n<li>Checked oily boost tubing leading to intercooler, unable to find any leak so cleaned entire area<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It amazes me how relatively easy everything was once the car was up on jackstands and the wheels removed.
